Dr. Donna Allen to speak at Faculty Award Lecture
Northwest Nazarene is pleased to announce the 2015-2016 Faculty Award Lecture Series featuring communication studies professor Dr. Donna Allen. The lecture will be held in the Brandt Center Grand Lobby on Tuesday, March 15 at 7 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
Using Mark Knapp’s Staircase descriptive model of the stages of development and applying interpersonal theories, Allen’s lecture entitled, “An Interpersonal Relationship with God,” explores the similarities and differences in relationship development and maintenance of the unique God-human dyad.
Allen explains, “this exploration of the relational nature of God with us is intended to suggest ways in which one can approach relationships as God does, to better understand one’s relationship with and to God, and to provide insights into how to be more Christ-like in our relationships with others.”
Dr. Michael Pitts, NNU professor and department chair of Counselor Education, ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene and a counselor who works with individuals on how to understand relationship, will respond.
