Covenant

Covenant is NNU's 8 member worship band that travels throughout the Northwest region leading worship at churches and camps. They also serve camps as cabin leaders and any other ways they are needed.

Witness

Witness is a unique group that spends most of it's time getting dirty and working in the trenches of camps. You'll see them serving as cabin leaders, running the camp games, or sometimes spending days filling water balloons for an epic water war.

Hometown: Yakima, WA
Home Church: West Valley Church of the Nazarene
Major: Christian Ministry with an emphasis in Worship Leadership
Class: Junior - soon to be senior
Career Goal: Worship Arts Pastor
Favorite thing about NNU: Community life!
Favorite Scripture: Jer. 29:11
Hobbies: Watching/playing sports, traveling, playing piano, surfing, longboarding, basically anything outdoors, experiencing new things with family & friends.
Most influential person in my life: James & Bethany Lounsberry, for loving me well & never letting me settle for anything less than what God has planned for me.
One quirky fact about me: I have the ability to sleep through all of the 5 alarms I set that continuously go off in the morning. I hate mornings.

Camilla Mowry

Hometown: Twin Falls, ID
Home Church: Twin Falls First Church of the Nazarene
Major: Elementary Math Education
Class: Junior
Career Goal: Teaching Refugees!
Favorite thing about NNU: Olivia MacDonald (my best friend), Campus life at NNU is SO FUN! I love Timeout, the SGA events, dorm life, Swing Dance Club, and the spontaneous adventures of college life!
Favorite Scripture: Genesis 3:9
Hobbies: Swing Dancing, all kinds of dancing, playing the cello, eating dark chocolate, jammin to Relient K with my friends, and drinking lavender chai from the Flying M.
Most influential person in my life: My grandma, Mowry! She is an amazing, strong woman who is full of wisdom and is completely in love with God.
One quirky fact about me: I love sharks. In fact, I chose to play the cello when I was 8 because it made the "shark sound" from the movie "Jaws".

Grant Johnson

Hometown: Ridgefield, WA
Home Church: Ridgefield Church of the Nazarene
Major: Engineering (Electrical Concentration)
Class: Junior
Career Goal: I would like to work with startup companies. I enjoy doing new things, and working with startup companies allows me to have a constantly changing career, developing a range of products.
Favorite thing about NNU: Hands down, the community. NNU, in my opinion, has one of the best on-campus communities available. The vibe of this campus is almost always welcoming, even during busy times like midterms and finals.
Favorite Scripture: Ecclesiastes 2:11
Hobbies: Music and magic tricks.
Most influential person in my life: Jon Foreman. The music that this man has produced has had a profound impact on my life, and I don’t think I would be the person I am today without its influence.
One quirky fact about me: I have never once eaten a PB&J.

Jessica Rimer

Major: Nursing

Career Goal: Pediatric Nurse
Favorite thing about NNU: I love the community of NNU. I have made friendships that have both encouraged me and built me up, but that have also pushed me and challenged me to grow. I also really love Timeout, our weekly student-led worship service.

Hobbies: Laughing, singing, homeworking, cello-ing, guitaring, hiking, biking, running

Jonathan Curty

Hometown: Ashland, Oregon
Home Church: Ashland GracePoint Church of the Nazarene
Major: Social Work, with a music minor
Class: Junior
Career Goal: I want to be in a place where I am positioned to counter and stop injustice, whether that means walking alongside the oppressed or advocating in the face of those with power.
Favorite thing about NNU: NNU has been the place I could begin to learn who I truly am to God and make a real commitment to my faith.
Favorite Scripture: Isaiah 25: 7-9
Hobbies: I love to read books (outside, when I can swing it), watch movies, watch sports, talk life with friends, and play music.
Most influential person in my life: My parents, Jim and Jeanne Curty, who were both my loving parents and the leaders of GracePoint as the pastoral family. I want to be like them...and Jesus. Of course Jesus.
One quirky fact about me: My claim to fame on campus this year was leading a band that played covers of a band that played Christian parodies of actual songs from real bands. Yes, you read that right. I even took home the crown for the Mr. NNU pageant (though I didn't even get a cool parking spot for that...)

Josh Dringenberg

Career Goal: I would like to start out as a youth pastor, and eventually because the senior pastor of a Nazarene church.
Favorite thing about NNU: The awesome people and their loving attitudes.

Hobbies: Playing frisbee, playing piano, singing, drinking coffee, chatting with friends.
Most influential person in my life: My little brother. He's always pushed me to be the best that I could be.
One quirky fact about me: I once ate peanut butter and jelly sandwiches every day for lunch for an entire year.

One quirky fact about me: My senior project was designing the NNU app! I also play the accordion!

Favorite thing about NNU: The people! I love walking to class and saying hi to everyone I walk by. The community is close, genuine, and intentional.

Most influential person in my life: My mother! She faithfully encourages and serves people while sharing the love of God with others. I want to live a life like hers; a life characterized by love for God and people.

Career Goal: School Psychologist.
Favorite thing about NNU: One of my favorite memories at NNU was filling a kiddie pool with six different kinds of pudding at the Brick House.

Hobbies: Art, music, watching Youtube videos, hiking, camping, taking fun pictures with statues.
One quirky fact about me: I was my elementary school's speed stacking champion (that PE activity where you stack all those cups and then tear them down speedily).

McKinley Anderson

Major: Biodiversity and Ecology

Career Goal: Field biologist/ Zoologist.
Favorite thing about NNU: My favorite thing about NNU is the professors. I have had so many professors personally invest in my life. They take time out of their days to check in about how your classes are going, but beyond that they care about your life outside of school as well.
Favorite Scripture: Ezekiel 37: 1-14
Hobbies:I love writing, playing music, and hiking and exploring around the Pacific Northwest where I live.
Most influential person in my life: Alexander Von Humbolt. He was a scientist who worked to integrated all of the sciences (Chemistry, biology, physics, etc.) and the arts.
One quirky fact about me: I have been a vegetarian for three years.
